My analytical view of our final film
In my opinion our film has some positives and some negatives. I do believe the beginning scene where Jason and Dale (the two friends) should be a longer scene to show to the audience that these two are close friends this would make the film make more sense as the audience doesn't fully understand the actual relationship between Jason and Dale as you just see them laughing and talking together for less than 30 seconds, after spending a day drinking. I also think our end scene could be improved where the big reveal of who it is that has actually 'betrayed' Jason. We attempted certain shots with this scene where Dale would lower his hood whilst walking away with the rucksack full of money but we couldn't get the shot right. We then attempted to try and get a shot with both Jason's friend and Dale in at the same time whilst Dale was watching him but we couldn't get both actors at the same time and the cars in the car park were not the same so we would have had issues with continuity if we did perform this shot. Another criticism of our film was that there was a lot of phone calls with little action in for a thriller film. However our film needed these phone calls for the plot to make sense. I would also argue that the phone calls between Jason and 'the attacker' are quite thrilling due to the dialogue included and it adds to the tension in the film as we found out from this phone call that if Jason doesn't get the money to the attacker, who turns out to be Dale, then he will leave him in the room forever.
