Research on Genre: Title sequences + Music

Title Sequences:

This is a title sequence of a crime thriller film called now you see me. It is a similar film to ours as the film involves a ploy to steal money through the art of magic.  From the title sequences you can tell that it is a mysertious/crime thriller film. Because of the iconography included with the handcuffs and the vault being broken into with the man running out with the sack of money.  Also in a title sequence there is music that relates to the theme of the film, because the music is fast paced, the film will be fast paced and have lots of twists and action.  A typical thriller films title sequence has a relation to the content of the film. For example in the title sequence of Psycho it includes the same music from what is included inside in the film and in Now you see me it includes the cards and the robbing of the money to which is included in the film.

                          Music:
The music included in thriller films is typically non-diagetic sounds with music creating a sound bridge to create a certain suspense and tension in the film this atmosphere then lasts the full film. A good thriller film will include a change in pace and rhythm of the music to match the action for example the first part of this clip from the famous thriller film 'Die Hard' shows a good example of this as the van is driving towards John Mclane then as they start shooting it goes sharp and high pitched again this is a typical technique of a thriller film.                                                                                                The most famous piece of music from a thriller film is the famous psycho scene when Norman BAtes kills the woman. This is the typical piece of music for a classic thriller film.
